In-Person 1:1 Tutoring
$60 an Hour
OR $40 per Half Hour Session
This in-person private 1:1 tutoring class focuses on phonics instruction and phonological awareness, essential stepping stones on your learner's journey to becoming a fluent reader. We will also work on listening and reading comprehension, vocabulary, spelling, and writing.
During our first session, I will assess what reading level your learner is on through fun activities and games that measure skills in phonological awareness, phonics, letter recognition, and spelling. Then we will follow a scope and sequence to learn the foundational skills your learner needs in order to start reading fluently.
My tutoring program follows the research-based science of reading principles, including teaching oral language, phonological awareness and phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, reading/language comprehension, and writing.
We will use high-quality decodable reading passages and literacy activities in class.
I will provide all materials and activities for our program, including all decodable passages, activity pages, assessments, and hands-on materials, such as manipulatives and playdough.
